GDE Deck

Paul Kinlan

One of the projects that I am most proud of is that with Robert Nyman we've managed to create and build up a program called 'Web GDE' or 'Web Google Developer Experts'. The GDE program is a collection of some of the worlds leading web developers who are out in the community building software and supporting the wider community to improve the quality of web experiences.

We meet regularly, but I've found it hard to keep on top of all the great content that our GDE's create, so I wanted to solve that by building a TweetDeck like tool called the GDE Deck.

As I built out The GDE Deck it morphed in to a hosted service called Topic Deck.

I lead the Chrome Developer Relations team at Google.

We want people to have the best experience possible on the web without having to install a native app or produce content in a walled garden.

Our team tries to make it easier for developers to build on the web by supporting every Chrome release, creating great content to support developers on web.dev, contributing to MDN, helping to improve browser compatibility, and some of the best developer tools like Lighthouse, Workbox, Squoosh to name just a few.

I love to learn about what you are building, and how I can help with Chrome or Web development in general, so if you want to chat with me directly, please feel free to book a consultation.
